One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is meeting people. I got to meet Steven and Ashlee Bell and their wonderful children. This was their first photo as a family since Lilly arrived. I had a great time meeting them and capturing the fun. Time flew by. I want to thank the Bell family and Hazard First Baptist Church for allowing me to take the photos.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cortney, Nathan and their son Mason yesterday. Mason smiled and laughed the entire time and we were able to capture dozens of wonderful expressions and laughs. Thanks for letting me take your family photographs!

It was wonderful being there to capture the moment and on Valentine's Day to boot. The photos in the slideshow are unedited, but I wanted to share the suprise and joy of the moment. The sign is on Randy's right and he points it out to her. The proposal was amazing and just wait until you see the photos taken after.

My friends had a wonderful baby boy 10 days ago. Holden Farler is the son of J. J. and Ashley and the little brother of Lauren. I had a wonderful time taking his photographs yesterday at their house. He was a nice little trooper as we captured the photographs. He is welcomed to a loving family. Thanks for letting me take his photographs.

Most of these photographs were taken with my cheap pocket camera. I was taking classes and tours, but still wanted to record the trip. I used my professional equipment with the photo sessions with Jessica and Ophelie.
The following photographs are from Tours France in the Loire River Valley.
Paris France. That says it all!
Dijon, Cote du Nuits, and Beaune. Better know as Burgundy.
Lyon is the Third largest city in France and is the Capital of the Rhone River Valley and Alps Region.
Avignon is the location of many movies including "A Good Year" with Russell Crowe and "French Kiss" with Meg Ryan and Kevin Cline. It is also very famous for the Roman Aqueduct built in 100 AD and Chateauneuf du Pape.
Marseille is a BEAUTIFUL city and is the second largest in France. It is also one of the oldest trade cities in the world as well. It is a true melting pot of cultures, religions, races and more. The food and wine are as wonderful as the views too. Rose was a discovery for me. I did not like rose wines until I tried the Provence regional wines and they are amazing.

This photograph was taken immediately following the wedding when Cheryl and Sam tied the horses up after the ceremony was completed. The fog on the mountains and the clear skies for a few hours let all of their plans come together. It began raining again when we were all leaving.

The reception was at Liz's aunt's farm and it was something. They had a large tent, wine bar, food everywhere and a DJ with a Dance floor setup in the grass. It was a great event and I am very happy for Greg and Liz. Thank you for trusting me to capture and save your memories and letting me witness your wedding. I wish you the very best.

As you can see, we have a great time with our friends / clients. We are there from the beginning, capturing every moment and interaction with the people most important in your life. Natalie and Matt had a beautiful wedding. Natalie had a house in Versailles, Kentucky for her preparation. She left there to have "The First Look" (in the next blog post) at Keeneland in Lexington Kentucky. We captured so many great photos!
]]>I wanted to share the first look today with you so you can how we started our day at Keeneland together. I will have other posts in the coming days. We photographed for 15 hours and took over 3000 photos throughout the events. Natalie purchased the Gold Wedding Package and is getting an incredible print order and digitals as well. #mattalie
After the Engagement session in Louisville, we met the had the pleasure of photographing an outdoor wedding at a very nice venue in Nicholasville, Kentucky called the Moonlight Farm. I have barely had time to go through the photos but they look as amazing as the couple and the venue. I want to thank Dustin, Lauren, Betsy and Bobby for letting me be a part of this special day!
I had a very good day yesterday. I have talking to Dorothy and Tony about their wedding for several months. Their wedding package includes an engagement session and a bridal session as well. We photographed their Engagement photos at Churchill Downs in Louisville yesterday and had a great time. Their daughter Savannah smiled and laughed the whole time. These are only 3 of over 300 we shot yesterday. Thanks Dorothy and Tony. It was nice to finally meet you in person yesterday!
I love to see close families and today I had another chance. The Fields family was great to work with. I had driven from a wedding in Columbus Ohio, but the smiles and laughs rejuvenated me. Very nice children. They ran, played and were very well behaved and smiled the entire shoot. I love working with such happy folks.

I had not been to an Indian Engagement Ceremony before, but I must say, it was such a great experience. About two months before, Dr. Bhatt emailed me about a quote I had offered. The photography was on a Saturday evening and a Sunday. Kunal and Sophia, the engaged couple are both Physicians and live in Atlanta. Their families were in attendance and they were all so nice to meet. We took several photographs of groups, but we captured hundreds of candid shots as well. I had a wonderful time and I hope to photograph their wedding as well in a few months. I am so glad that Dr. Bhatt hired me to attend and be a part of the weekend festivities. The family members and friends were so close and so kind. The ceremony was symbolic and I was in awe. I had a great time.

I had an opportunity to speak with Anna (The bride) several times before the wedding. She is a friendly person and was excited about her wedding at Boone's Tavern in Berea Kentucky. I met her and her husband the evening of the wedding and their families as well. It was a nice event with family and close friends and the couple was fantastic. I had such a great time getting to know them. The live in Milwaukee Wisconsin, and had heard of Boone Tavern. I have to say; it was my first time there, but it was such a neat, historical place and presented a perfect, peaceful venue for such an affair
Saturday morning I got to work with Sarah and David. They had just arrived from Oregon two days prior and we had the pleasure of meeting at Lexington Green for a nice introduction and a fun photo session. It was a great day for photos and Joseph Beth Bookstore was a nice venue choice. I will be photographing their wedding at the Storybook Inn, in Versailles, Kentucky.
Natalie and Matt caught a plane on the red eye on Friday the 25th of July to Lexington for their engagement photo session with me. We met at the UK Library and had a great time. They are outgoing, fun loving and their personality showed in their photographs. They will be getting married in September at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Lexington, Kentucky. I will be photographing their wedding and their reception and Bridal Portrait session at Keeneland as well. They are a handsome couple and the setting is amazing, so I expect to have more wonderful portraits to share soon. I look forward to seeing them again and the 250 guest that will be arriving in Lexington as well!
The De'Harts are very nice folks and I had a great time with them yesterday evening at Bobby Davis Park in Hazard. They are a nice family and we have awesome photos from the shoot as well. I won't forget this shoot for numerous reasons, but one was because of a close call. I was shooting them on a staircase and tripped. As I fell backwards, I landed on a pointed rock and then began to fall off of a rock wall that was about 6 ft tall. I would have landed on my head and I feel certain that I would have been injured even worse had I continued. Thankfully I was able to catch myself, but I was still stuck with my head facing the ground over the rock wall when the De'Harts came and grabbed me. It was not the way I normally begin a photo shoot, but I am certainly glad that they were there and were so quick. Thank you all very much!!
Irene was so interesting. She is a downhill skier for Greece and she is an archaeologist as well as being the official Greek Pin Up Model. Irene went through casting in March and was the first choice for this shoot. She communicated the locations she thought would be best for our sessions and researched the type of photo sessions we were having. All were outdoor, daily routine photographs. Many of these were on the Aegean Sea and Glifada is an unbelievably beautiful location. Irene was wonderful to work with. She was professional, prompt, studied and of course attractive as were all the models. She had a tough sense of humor and kept me laughing the entire shoot. I had an awesome time and we had a great shoot.
Stefania was amazing to work with. Athens is exceptionally difficult to drive in, so Stefania and I took the subway to the Plaka, which is a historic district of Athens, just below the Acropolis. It was a beautiful area. Stefania is a runway model in Milan, Italy, an Actress and model in Greece and is very recognized as I found out that day. I saw her on a billboard for an advertisement when we exited the subway station and people recognized her. We had to get out of the mainstream to be able to photograph. Stefania was very natural with her poses and she knew the best places to shoot. I learned a lot at our photo session and was greatly impressed with her poise and ability.
Brno is a city about 40 minutes north of Vienna, Austria. It is a beautiful city with amazing architecture and the home of the Spielberg Castle. Lucie and I worked in a park, just below the castle and in the city near a college. Lucie has been a model for 5 years and has been a runway model in Vienna. We shot stock photography in outdoor settings, but she is normally employed as a fashion model. I drove from Prague to Brno and had the wonderful experience of driving long straight roads in Europe. They move! When I got to Brno, my GPS was not correct and I got lost. We finally met about an hour late, but Lucie was extremely nice and understanding about my mishap. We had a great session and I was able to capture several very nice stock photos. Thanks Lucie.
During casting, I met Darya Yakutina. Darya is a model from Siberia Russia that moved to Prague in 2012. She is a student at the university and models full time. Her father is a scientist that still lives and works in Siberia. Darya had studied the motif of the photo shoot and was prepared for the stock photo session when she arrived. We photographed in Prague Castle, at the Charles Bridge, and at the National Rose Garden. Darya was very kind and I was glad to see how well she remembered over 200 photos I wanted to capture. The photo shoot was based around every day activities such as talking on the phone, having a glass of water and other normal activities. Darya is normally a glamour model, but I asked all of them to dress down a bit and not over do the makeup. Darya was wonderful to work with.
Prague is a gorgeous city located in the Czech Republic. I had the honor of working with a great professional model named Jitka Brendlova. We photographed in Prague Castle, which is the largest castle in the world and took photographs in a passage at the President's office. We took our places and waited for the perfect moment when the soldiers marched into our view. We also shot at Charles Bridge and the City Overlook across the river. Jitka was very nice, professional and knew of all the great places to shoot. Thanks Jitka!

It was a great fall afternoon in Sevierville Tennessee. The outdoor wedding was quaint and very comfortable. As you can see from the photos in their gallery, they are a very outgoing and photogenic couple. I had a wonderful time and felt like part of the wedding party. They were inviting and gracious. I hope they have an incredible life together. Thank you both for letting me be a part of your wonderful wedding..
